In addition to our permanent exhibitions, The Workshops Rail Museum hosts temporary and touring exhibitions from around the country in the Boilershop Gallery. The Workshops Rail Museum has also produced a number of in-house exhibitions that are available for other Museums and cultural institutions to host at their venues.

Life on the Line
This new photographic exhibition by The Workshops Rail Museum features the many and varied tasks that railway workers have performed over the years. From building and maintaining track to driving trains, a large number of people work behind the scenes to ensure that trains run safely and passengers arrives at their destinations on time.

Great Railway Journeys of Australia Now touring Australia
Developed and presented by The Workshops Rail Museum, a campus of the Queensland Museum, the Great Railway Journeys of Australia exhibition explores the important role that train travel has played in Australian cultural life. Over 20 iconic journeys are presented, including the Queenslander trains, the Old and New Ghan, the Trans Australia Railway and the Indian Pacific, to name a few.
