Features
Tail prominently visible from above; broad flat frontal spines; flattened legs; spanner-like claws; bright orange. To 125 mm across.
Notes
In subtidal sand and muddy-sand; shallows to about 50 m depth. Crabs have been swarming in large numbers on sand banks within Moreton Bay, apparently for breeding. Widespread, northern Australia from Houtman Abrolhos, WA, to southern NSW; Indo-West Pacific.
