Bush Picnic Day Bush Picnic A fun weekend shaped by the spirit of the outback!

Activities include:

  • Relax with tunes performed by Australian folk & country musos Penny Davies and Roger Ilott.

  • Let imaginations run wild with stories of the outback told by Daryll Bellingham.

  • Meet Jack Roo, a bushman with a big personality and fun interactive activities – will you try your hand at gumboot throwing or bush-dancing? Every half hour on the hour from 10:30am to 2:30pm.

  • Join Farmer Phill around the campfire for stories of the bush, demonstrations of billy tea, damper making and whip cracking at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm & 2:30pm.

Bush Picnic Steam Train

Saturday 18 May

It’s all aboard an old steamer as you travel through the beautiful south east Queensland countryside from the Museum to Grandchester and back again to the Museum. Please note steam train ticket price does not include Museum entry.
