Volunteering

Our Volunteer Program offers community members the opportunity to work as part of the Museum team. Volunteers contribute to the effective operation of the Museum and its programs. Volunteers work within teams to suit their interests and skills.

Volunteers are a key part of the operation of The Workshops Rail Museum and participate in a variety of roles including:  

  • Activities & events
  • Collections & research 
  • Museum maintenance 
  • Marketing 
  • Administration.

Work experience & vocational placements

Work experience and vocational placements at the Queensland Museum aim to provide students with an opportunity to:

  • relate their studies to the workplace
  • prepare for the demands and expectations of the working world
  • make more informed career decisions by assessing their aptitudes and interests.
