Thomas the Tank Engine and The Fat Controller will bring their tales of discovery, adventure and friendship ‘downunder’ to The Workshops Rail Museum’s for Australia’s biggest Thomas event from 26 December 2010 to 30 January 2011.
Day out with Thomas 2011 will see the world’s favourite little blue engine and his friends including Edward, Donald and Douglas, Annie, Clarabel and Lady visit The Workshops Rail Museum’s popular annual event, now in its eighth year.
Director of The Workshops Rail Museum Andrew Moritz said as Australia’s top rail Museum and recent winner of the Queensland Tourism Award for Heritage & Cultural Tourism, The Workshops Rail Museum is the perfect location for Thomas and The Fat Controller to spend their summer holidays.
“The Day out with Thomas 2011 event, and in particular the stories told by The Fat Controller, extol values of hard work, innovation and mateship, values which are central to Australia’s culture and the history of rail in Queensland,” Mr Moritz said.
“We are delighted to continue to educate young Thomas fans about rail through an exciting and engaging combination of Thomas the Tank Engine themed activities and the Museum’s own hands-on exhibits.”
Daily activities at the Day out with Thomas 2011 event include interactive Thomas the Tank Engine themed games and activities in the Thomas Play Pit, storytelling with The Fat Controller, art and craft activities, and searching for Thomas on the Museum’s huge model railway.
Visitors can purchase an Annual Pass Membership when they visit the Day out with Thomas 2011 event which allows unlimited entry into The Workshops Rail Museum for 12 months, including upcoming events such as Circus Train and the Queensland Model Railway Show.
